Welcome to the realm. Medieval Fae Fest is built by many hands — performers, merchants, volunteers, and guests — and it stays magical when everyone inside the gates treats everyone else with courtesy and care. This Code of Conduct applies to everyone at the festival: guests, vendors, performers, volunteers, and staff, in every festival space, all weekend long.
The Spirit of the Realm
- Be kind. A festival crowd is a village for a weekend — greet your neighbors, lend a hand, and leave every space better than you found it.
- Respect boundaries. “No” is a complete sentence, in costume and out of it.
- Follow the directions of festival staff and venue personnel. They are there to keep the realm safe and running.
Cosplay Is Not Consent
Many of our guests, performers, and characters wear elaborate costumes, wings, armor, and regalia. Admire freely — but:
- Always ask before taking a photograph of someone, and accept a “no” gracefully.
- Never touch a person, their costume, wings, tail, weapon prop, or belongings without clear permission.
- Give performers and costumed characters room to move, rest, eat, and simply be off duty.
Harassment Has No Place Here
Medieval Fae Fest has zero tolerance for harassment of any kind, including:
- Unwanted or continued attention after being asked to stop
- Intimidation, stalking, or following
- Offensive comments about a person’s appearance, identity, beliefs, or abilities
- Unwanted physical contact
- Deliberate disruption of performances, workshops, or another guest’s enjoyment
Families & Little Ones
Children are welcome throughout the realm. Please keep an eye on your young knights and fae, and if a child is lost or separated, bring them to the nearest staff member or the gate immediately so we can reunite your party quickly.
Weapons, Animals & Substances
- Costume weapons must be peace-tied and follow the festival’s Weapons & Costume Props policy at all times.
- Service animals are welcome as described in our Accessibility policy; pets are not permitted on the grounds.
- Alcohol and illegal substances are governed by Florida law and venue rules. Anyone whose conduct endangers others or disrupts the festival will be removed.
If Something Goes Wrong
If you experience or witness harassment or unsafe behavior, please tell any festival staff member, volunteer, or the gate crew right away. Reports are taken seriously and handled as discreetly as we can manage. After the festival, you may also reach us at medievalfaefest@gmail.com.
Depending on the situation, festival staff may respond with a warning, removal from the grounds without a refund, a ban from future events, or contacting local law enforcement. Staff decisions in the moment are final, so the realm stays safe for everyone else in it.
Online Spaces Too
This same spirit applies on the festival’s official pages and groups online. Be courteous there as you would at the gate.
Thank you for helping us keep Medieval Fae Fest welcoming, safe, and full of wonder for everyone who steps through the gates.
