How the Competition Works

Each competitor will receive a designated number of throws at the target. Points are awarded according to where each axe strikes, with the highest combined scores advancing through the competition.

The best throwers will face one another until a Champion of Ravenshire emerges!

The victor will receive:

The Title of Axe Throwing Champion of Ravenshire

Along with festival bragging rights, recognition before the people of Ravenshire, and a champion’s prize.

But remember—strength alone will not win the day.

Accuracy. Control. Nerve.

Those are the marks of a true axe thrower.

Competition Requirements

Participants must register before competing. Space may be limited, so early registration is encouraged.

All competitors must:

• Attend the required safety briefing before throwing.
• Follow the instructions of the Axe Master and competition officials at all times.
• Use only axes and equipment approved for the competition.
• Remain behind the designated throwing line until instructed otherwise.
• Wear closed-toe shoes.
• Sign the Medieval Fae Fest Participant Waiver before competing.
• Refrain from participating while under the influence of alcohol or any substance that could impair safe participation.

Age requirements and additional competition rules will be posted at registration.

Festival officials reserve the right to stop participation or disqualify any competitor for unsafe conduct.
